CIMA Conference on Sustainability

February 22, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm

After last year’s successful virtual conference on Trust in the Age of Misinformation, we will be returning to an in person conference at the Toronto Reference Library for 2023.

ESG and Sustainability topics are at the forefront of business discussions and can represent both an existential threat and a significant opportunity to many sectors.

We will explore both opportunities and threats across multiple different industries in what we hope to be another engaging dialogue providing actionable insights to our members and broader network.

Keynote Speaker: Janis Rod, Executive Director, Climate Change and Sustainability Services, Ernst & Young

Janis is an experienced sustainability consultant with over two decades of practice in regulatory affairs, environmental and social risk management, impact assessment, stakeholder and Indigenous engagement, corporate responsibility and sustainability planning.

Janis’ practice has spanned many industries, including renewable energy, natural gas, mining, processing and manufacturing, and development of infrastructure and land. She has also worked with the public sector on training, facilitation, communications, and policy.

Educated as an environmental engineer, armed with a graduate degree focusing on sustainability and climate change, experienced as a university lecturer, skilled as a leader, mentor and project manager, and equipped with a strong business acumen from running a consultancy, Janis is uniquely positioned to strategically manage environmental, social and governmental risks and opportunities.
