The BritishAmerican Business (BAB) Academy is a new series of workshops covering different business skills for high potential individuals aspiring to be general mangers and who are rising stars in their organisations.
The Academy offers a unique snapshot of key business functions and provides skills to help young professionals grow into general management roles.
Who is the Academy for?
Limited to 30 places, the BAB Academy is designed for young professionals with about 5 years of professional experience who work for BAB member companies – transatlantic firms and organizations of all sizes, based on both sides of the Atlantic.
The programme provides a great chance to to gain experience and insight in areas outside your core function from a variety of industry leaders, and to make new professional relationships and contacts on both sides of the Atlantic.
We invite BAB members to nominate young professionals within their company to participate in the programme.
Email Emma Sherborne to put a colleague forward: esherborne@babinc.org.
What to expect?
The series will consist of 10 wide-ranging interactive virtual workshop sessions, running from October 2021 to July 2022, including interactive workshops presented by leading business experts and advisors from a selection of carefully chosen BAB companies.

Corporate purpose is an increasingly talked-about business concept. A recent survey* showed that 87% of CEO’s agree that purpose delivers competitive advantage, driving initiatives across their business. In this interactive session we’ll explore what purpose is (and importantly, what it isn’t). We’ll share the criteria for a good purpose statement and work through the steps to defining one. The session will be facilitated by Brandpie – a consultancy who specialise in purpose-driven transformation. Their clients include EY, TCS, Capgemini and AstraZeneca.
