Brad Ashton, Customs and International Trade Partner, RSM UK
Brad Ashton is Customs & International Trade Partner at RSM UK. He has over 30 years’ experience advising clients in the customs duty and trade field, starting his career in what was HM Customs & Excise.
Brad advises clients globally and has led and worked on many assignments throughout the EU and internationally. With his wealth of experience, Brad provides clear and practical direction to client’s customs, international trade, and excise duty strategies, focusing on delivering solutions that add value as well as compliance.
Kieran Laird – Partner, Gowling WLG
Kieran specialises in assisting clients interpret and apply public law concepts and complex regulatory frameworks. In doing so, he helps clients to identify and manage their public law and regulatory issues quickly and commercially. He is also the Head of Constitutional Affairs for the Gowling WLG Brexit Unit and a major contributor to the firm’s Brexit content.
His practice includes both contentious and non-contentious work and encompasses domestic and EU law across a range of sectors including energy, health, qualifications, transport and elections and referendums. Kieran has also assisted with the development of regulatory regimes in Africa and the Middle East.
Kieran also provides private companies with commercially focused advice in relation to dealings with public bodies and understanding and complying with regulatory obligations, including mounting challenges where necessary.
Professor Martin Levermore MBE DL, Founder and CEO, Medical Devices Technology International
Chair of Medilink Midlands and Vice Chair for Nehemiah United Churches Housing Association (UCHA). In addition, Martin is also the founder and CEO of Martin is also CEO of Medical Devices Technology International Ltd (MDTi). Martin has over 18 years at senior board level in the Life Sciences sector and sits on the Executive Board of PIONEER as Commercial Adviser, whilst Chairing the advisory board to HDRUK.
Martin holds various positions: Interim Chair of New Roots Charity, Directorship with the Birmingham Commonwealth Association (BCA) and is an Executive Committee Member of the Greater Birmingham Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce.
Martin holds a Senior Associateship with the Royal Society of Medicine, Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts.
Martin is a Visiting Professor for Health, Education and Life Science at Birmingham City University (BCU) and a Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands appointed in 2018. Recently Martin was appointed a NED to the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.
