Untethered Talent: The Future of International Hires!

November 3, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The pandemic has propelled us into a disruptive period of workforce changes and remote working or a hybrid approach has become the norm.

In many industries, talented individuals with in-demand skills now realize they can live and work where they choose. Employers also realize they can source the best talent from anywhere in the world as long as they have internet connectivity.

But what about the practical, legal, tax, and cultural impact? How should employers expect to engage and retain international talent in the future? Should your HR strategy be high-tech or high-touch?

Join ZEDRA’s Kiki Stannard and Bird & Bird’s Jonathan Goldsworthy on their myth-busting mission exploring your choices for employing talent post-pandemic and the commercial, cultural, HR, employment law, and tax considerations that come with an untethered workforce.

This session is designed for company founders, C-suite executives, HR Directors, and Global Mobility professionals who are considering hiring overseas in the next 12 to 24 months.

Moderator: Lindsey Mignano, Smith Shapourian Mignano
Lindsey counsels national and international startups regarding business formation and expansion into US markets, financing, and contractual matters.

Prior to founding her four-woman firm in 2016, Lindsey practiced at an international law firm. Originally from Hawaii, she graduated from Iolani School (H.S.D., 2003) before heading to California to attend Stanford University (B.A., 2007) and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (J.D., 2010).

She currently sits on the Barristers Board of Directors for the Bar Association of San Francisco as the President-Elect, on the Board of Directors for Stanford Alumni Association’s Women’s Impact Network, on the Board of Directors for Mini Cat Town, Inc., a neonatal kitten rescue, and serves as a Sustainer in the Junior League of San Francisco, Inc.

She received the Outstanding Barristers Award in 2017 from the Bar Association of San Francisco; Women in the Law Committee’s Outstanding New Leader Award in 2015 from DRI, an international legal organization for defense and corporate counsel; and a Super Lawyers Rising Star award every year since 2016.
