SUMMARY:Strong or in Decline? A Look at Business Confidence in the US and the UK
DESCRIPTION:July 18\, 2022\n11:00 am – 12:00 pm EST\n\nBAB and Bain & Company are delighted to announce the launch of the second Transatlantic Confidence Index\, an annual report measuring investor confidence in the United States and the United Kingdom. How has confidence in the transatlantic corridor fared since its last edition\, especially in light of rising inflation\, and the war in Ukraine? Is the transatlantic corridor a pillar of stability for business? What should governments do to continue to attract business and investment to the US and UK? \nCovering these and other business priorities\, the 2022 report offers a comprehensive insight into the state of play of the transatlantic relationship; and what is top of mind for leading companies in the corridor. SUMMARY:Transition Trends: Investing and Accelerating to Net Zero
DESCRIPTION:2022 Transition Trends: Investing and Accelerating to Net Zero\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe World is continuing to work towards the transition to carbon net zero\, however\, according to a recent Zeronomics report from Standard Chartered\, 55% of business leaders still believe that the transition to net zero is not fast enough and we are in danger of missing the goals outlined in the Paris Agreement. \nESG and sustainability is staying at the forefront of business\, with the majority of business pledging an ambitious target in the race to net zero\, but are companies on track? Is there enough investment in key areas\, is it fully supported by governments\, industry and supply chains and what impact have these targets had on business as well as the consumer? \nAs the Business Community comes away from Davos with an even more acute focus on speeding up the scaling of climate solutions\, BAB invites you to join us for a unique opportunity to hear from global leaders\, from a cross-section of industries\, all with a common goal of accelerating the commitment to net zero and supporting efforts to achieve this. \nInvestment – Financial institutions can connect capital to markets which are most vulnerable to climate change. Standard Chartered will share the importance of investment.  Is it going where it matters most and how investors work on catalysing finance and partnerships to scale impact\, capital and climate solutions where they are needed the most. \nInfrastructure and technology – National Grid have emphasised the significance of Federal support for infrastructure to mitigate the impacts of climate change and the stress importance of investing in technology to optimize and increase grid utilization to accommodate all the distributed resources. \n‘Grain to glass’ sustainability – Diageo is committed to help build a more sustainable world by working to tackle climate change\, water stress and biodiversity loss. Diageo’s priorities include using less water to produce its products and replenish water stressed areas\, achieve net zero carbon across operations\, and reduce waste. But how do we engage consumers and suppliers around the world to join us on this journey? \n  \nBAB’s Corporate Citizenship & Sustainability Series is a bespoke series of roundtables and business briefings covering critical Environmental\, Societal and Governance (ESG) issues in business and private sector-led initiatives in support of COP\, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This series provides a platform to stimulate debate and conversation amongst business leaders\, relevant policy makers and stakeholders to advance the guiding principles of  COP26 for the U.S.-UK transatlantic corridor. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDate \n\nTuesday\, June 28th\n\n\n\nTime \n\n10:00 am – 11:00 am EDT \n3:00 pm – 4:00 pm BST\n\n\n\nPlatform \n\nZoom\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister to Attend\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet the Speakers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKevin Garrow\, Managing Director Head\, Natural & Renewable Resources\, Americas\, Standard Chartered Bank \nTo learn more about Kevin\, click here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKirstie McIntyre\, Global Director of Sustainability\, Diageo \nTo learn more about Kirstie\, click here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRudolph Wynter\, President\, National Grid\, New York \nTo learn more about Rudolph\, click here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Corporate Citizenship Sustainability Series is Sponsored By

SUMMARY:The STIR: Unlocking a Talent Pool by Creating a Disability Inclusive Workplace
DESCRIPTION:June 14\, 2022\n11:00 am – 12:00 pm EST\n\n\nMore than ever companies are committed to strengthening diversity and inclusion and have research backed business case for doing so. While huge progress has been made across boundaries of gender\, race\, and sexual orientation\, one area remains neglected: disability. \n  \nBusiness leaders need to look beyond the obvious fixes to attract prospective talent. In a market where there are far more jobs than workers\, companies can no longer afford to significantly underutilize a critical talent pool. Persons with disabilities represent ~15% of the population and nearly 80% worldwide are unemployed. With over 1 billion people with disability\, companies have a billion reasons to change their hiring practices. \n  \nThis session will seek to demystify misconceptions about disability inclusion: \n\nWhat is disability inclusion\, and how can you adjust your hiring practices to be more inclusive?\nHow do you create a culture of equality and provide additional resources to talent with disabilities?\nWhat are the benefits of having good disability inclusion policies?
