DESCRIPTION:April 25\, 2022\n11:00 am – 12:00 pm CST\n\n\nWe’re delighted to invite you to BABC Texas member\, Q5’s Conversation with Q5 Webinar: “The Purpose Driven Business – what does this really mean?”. \nChaired by Claire Hamlin\, with expert speakers Kate Adams\, Advisor on Organisation Purpose\, Performance & People to Execs & Boards and NED at the British Paralympic Association\, Mary Pizzey\, Research & Programmes Director at ReGenerate and Marcus Southon\, Senior Sustainability Manager at Cazoo. \n  \nRegister: Here \nThe value of corporate purpose is not a new phenomenon; however\, the significance of purpose in today’s climate makes it an instrumental component\, taking corporate responsibility way beyond traditional financial targets\, ensuring organisations act as a force for customer\, community\, colleague and environmental good. Counter to some traditional ways of operating\, it may dictate decisions that\, in the short term\, may negatively impact the bottom line\, seeing corporates act\, not only as vehicles of wealth creation\, but as instruments of global and national systems change.

SUMMARY:Liza Field\, Guyana: The Finding of a Stratigraphic Giant\, from Early Exploration to Production
DESCRIPTION:April 12\, 2022\n11:00 am – 12:00 pm CST\n\n\nA Journey of Discovery: From Concept to Discovery to Value \nIn 2015\, ExxonMobil and partners\, Hess Guyana Exploration Limited and CNOOC Nexen Petroleum Guyana Limited (now CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited)\, drilled the Liza-1 wildcat well on the Stabroek Block\, located offshore Guyana\, in approximately 1750 m (5700 ft) of water depth and encountered more than 90 m (300 ft) of high-quality\, oil-bearing sandstone reservoirs. Perhaps most notably\, this discovery was in a basin that previously had greater than 40 dry holes testing at least four different play types. After the Liza-1 discovery\, field development plans were fast-tracked and first oil was delivered in late 2019\, ahead of the original schedule. Furthermore\, as of October 2021 and after 20 additional discoveries\, ExxonMobil estimates the discovered recoverable resource for the offshore Guyana Stabroek Block to be approximately 10 billion oil-equivalent barrels. \nJoin Linda Price\, Senior Principal at ExxonMobil as she takes us through a fascinating journey from early exploration to production. Linda will cover the challenges\, risks and rewards of complex value chains and will share how the energy industry economic landscape of Guyana has been transformed by the early investment risk and subsequent discoveries. \nBABC Members – Complimentary \nGuests – $15 \nSign up here. A Zoom link will be sent to registered participants before the event.

SUMMARY:BAB'S Annual Trade & Geopolitics Update: Conflict\, Climate & Recovery
DESCRIPTION:April 5\, 2022\n11:00 am – 12:00 pm EST / 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm BST\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs governments and businesses around the world look to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic\, international trade is increasingly shaped by post-pandemic economic pressures\, environmental concerns\, domestic political priorities\, and most importantly\, the brutal reality of war in Europe. \nFor its annual Trade and Geopolitics update\, BAB\, in partnership with AIG\, has brought together a leading panel of global trade experts to discuss some of the most pressing developments in geopolitics and global trade taking shape in the coming months. We will reflect on developments seen and predictions made in 2021. We will assess the impact of the war in Ukraine and the response from the West on the global trading landscape\, and offer an outlook on what we may expect in 2022\, particularly on developments in the transatlantic corridor. Specific discussion points will include: \nGeopolitical conflict: Recent events in Ukraine are a sobering reminder of both the human and global economic costs posed by geopolitical conflict. What are the long-term impact of Western sanctions on Russia and will a united front presented by the US and its European allies in response to Russian aggression be similarly applied in the transatlantic approach to other autocratic regimes\, as governments on both sides of the Atlantic look to establish a fair trading relationship with China. \nEnvironment and Energy: As these geopolitical tensions dominate the news\, questions around energy consumption (particularly in Europe) and environmental concerns are now linked to ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Will geopolitical tensions side line efforts to meet the environmental commitments made at Cop26? Conversely\, will the war in Ukraine propel transition to renewable energy and make environmental questions a core element of trade discussions? \nPost-pandemic recovery: As government leaders look to “build back better” after the pandemic they must also contend with ongoing economic pressures such as global supply chain disruptions\, labour shortages\, and rising inflation. How will these factors shape economic recovery and global trade going forward? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister to attend\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProf. Simon Evenett\, International Trade & Economic Development\, University of St. Gallen \nTo learn more about Simon\, click here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMarianne Schneider-Petsinger\, Senior Research Fellow\, Chatham House \nTo learn more about Marianne\, click here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nModerator\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRem Korteweg\, Senior Research Fellow/Head of Strategic Initiatives & Outreach\, Clingendael Institute \nTo learn more about Rem\, click here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn partnership with
