BritishAmerican Business Chief Policy and Trade Officer Emanuel Adam took part in the 10th UK-US Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) Dialogue in Cardiff this week, where he moderated the opening session on opportunities and barriers to SME growth, alongside businesses, trade organisations and government officials from both sides of the Atlantic.
The Dialogue brought together more than 80 UK and US SMEs and business organisations to discuss opportunities and barriers to transatlantic trade and how to make it easier for smaller businesses to trade, invest and grow across the UK-US corridor.
Convened by the UK Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST), the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), the US Department of Commerce and the US Small Business Administration, discussions focused on opportunities and obstacles for SME trade, the future of manufacturing, digital and AI innovation, and UK-US supply chains and investment.
Launched in 2018, the UK-US SME Dialogue provides an important forum for small businesses and business organisations to engage directly with policymakers on the practical challenges facing companies looking to do business across the Atlantic.
BAB has been a longstanding supporter of the Dialogue, helping to reduce barriers to transatlantic trade, particularly for SMEs.
