Published: 29 April 2025 Statement from BritishAmerican Business on the First 100 Days of President Trump’s Administration

BritishAmerican Business CEO Duncan Edwards said:

“As President Trump marks his first 100 days in office, BritishAmerican Business (BAB) recognises this has been a period of significant change and uncertainty for businesses operating across the Atlantic. Rapid shifts in trade policy have challenged business confidence and complicated planning for companies invested in the transatlantic economy.

“Our members on both sides of the Atlantic are clear in what they need – certainty, stability, and a reduction in barriers to trade, including tariffs. Clear rules and a predictable environment are vital to enabling investment, innovation, job creation and economic growth.

“We welcome the work underway by the US and UK negotiating teams to lay the foundations for a new trade and investment partnership. But there is still work to do. We urge both sides to find swift, practical solutions to the unresolved issues. Reducing tariffs, cutting barriers to trade, increasing market access and creating a more modern, seamless business environment must be the top priorities.”
